You’re on a diet, and you’re wondering what’s for dinner.

This can lead to disaster: you should know what you’re having for dinner tonight, and every night this week.

Planning your meals is essential for dieting success. I like to plan the coming week’s meals on the weekend. After I’ve decided what’s on the menu, I make a shopping list.

I always try to do some cooking on the weekends as well, creating additional  meals which I can simply defrost during the week. Having something already prepared ensures that I won’t be tempted to buy fast food.

Start collecting recipes online — once you have a stash of recipes, it’s much easier to plan ahead.
