Try these four simple steps to lose weight; they work.

1. Eat Five Small Meals a Day and Drink Plenty of Water



Start by eating more. Yes, I know it sounds counter-intuitive. But when you start to gain weight, you'll often try to lose weight by skipping meals. This always means that you eat more at the next meal, and you eat between meals too.

Go shopping for non-processed foods. Focus on protein sources like meat, fish, beans and cheese. Stock up on fresh vegetables and fruit too.

Eat five meals a day, three main meals and two snacks, avoiding over-processed foods and "white" foods which contain white flour and sugar.

2. Get Sweating -- Build up a Sweat Any Way You Can



Your next step is to sweat. It doesn't matter what kind of exercise you do, whether you go for a walk, or go to the gym, as long as the exercise lasts around half an hour, and results in sweating.

Aim to exercise for half an hour at least five days a week.

4. New to Exercise? Build up Your Exercise Each Week



If you're unused to exercise, start slowly, with a five minute walk. Increase your walking time a little each week, until you're walking for the full half hour.
